Golf lessons for beginners in Grasse

Never held a club? That is exactly the starting point we know best.

Taking up golf at 20, 40 or 60 is nothing unusual: a good many pupils at Claux Amic Golf Academy start as adults, with no clubs and having never set foot on a course.

Your three questions

What people ask us before their first session

I don’t have any clubs

Clubs are lent to you. You buy nothing until you know whether golf suits you, and we then advise you on a first set matched to your height and your game.

I’ll be the worst one there

Group lessons bring together players of similar ability: you start alongside other beginners. At the adult golf school, groups are capped at 10 pupils.

When will I play a real course?

Access to the 18-hole course at Golf du Claux Amic requires the green card. The adult golf school programme devotes its third term to exactly that, with real play on the course.

Putting, chipping, bunker shots — where most strokes are saved.

  4. The course

Putting it into practice over the 18 holes at Claux Amic, then friendly matches.

Beginner FAQ

Taking up golf, in practice

Do I need to be particularly fit to take up golf?

No. Golf can be played at any age: at Claux Amic Golf Academy in Grasse, our pupils range from 3 to over 70. The swing calls for coordination rather than strength, and that is precisely what technical work builds.

How long before I play my first round?

The 18-hole course at Golf du Claux Amic opens to you as soon as you hold the green card. The adult golf school’s yearly programme devotes its third term to real play on the course.

Can I try before committing?

Yes. The adult golf school’s taster package includes two free sessions, with clubs on loan and a meeting with your coach, and no commitment.

What should I budget to get started?

At Claux Amic Golf Academy, a private lesson is €80 an hour, a group lesson €30 per person per hour from three participants upwards, and the adult golf school €400 a year for 30 sessions. Clubs are lent to you: nothing needs buying to begin.

Learning golf from scratch, in Grasse

Lessons designed for genuine beginners

From driving range to 18-hole course

Beginners work on the driving range, the putting green and the short-game area at Golf du Claux Amic, then move onto the 18-hole course once they hold the green card. The adult golf school’s yearly programme follows that path over 30 sessions.
